Christ is always near to me 1. Wheresoever I may be, Christ is always near to me. Nor can I escape his care, For my Lord is everywhere. Sleeping, waking though I be, Christ is always near to me; Nor should I of ought despair, For my Lord is everywhere 2. Far from friends though I may be, Christ is always near to me. For my loneliness he can share, For my Lord is everywhere. Tempted, tried, though I be, Christ is always near to me; Nought should confidence impair, For my Lord is everywhere. 3. Racked with pain, though I may be, Christ is always near to me. He my weariness can share, For my Lord is everywhere. Saviour, may my prayer be, "Keep me ever near to Thee; Thy blessed home, O, may I share, And still find thee everywhere." Words: Rev Robert E Fordyce (1897-1981)
